Provenance

Where the parts come from.

Disclosure, not marketing: the whitelist we build against, the exact paths we may use from each source, and the cases we refuse.

The packs we sell are our own designs. Some of the machinery around them — the fill engine, the slot contracts, the catalogue parsing — comes from open-source projects. This page is the register of those projects: what licence each one carries, what we took, what we left on the table, and the attribution text that ships in the pack.

The register is enforced by a gate in the factory build: a vendored file without a provenance record fails the build, and any directory listed as excluded fails the build if it appears in a pack.

Policy

RuleDetail
Allowed licencesMIT, Apache-2.0, BSD-3-Clause, BSD-2-Clause, CC0-1.0
Forbidden licencesAGPL-3.0, GPL-3.0, CC-BY-NC-4.0, CC-BY-NC-SA-4.0, NOASSERTION, Proprietary
Rule 1Every upstream licence is read in full, clause by clause — README badges and search summaries are not evidence.
Rule 2A repository that claims MIT or Apache but whose original design comes from a third-party consultancy brand or a template shop is methodology reference only, never vendored.
Rule 3Vendored code is pinned to a commit SHA and keeps its original copyright notice.
Rule 4The asset layer (fonts, images, icons, template files) is judged separately; anything without a declared licence is excluded.
Rule 5A licence outside the whitelist may only be used as a methodology reference and never enters a commercial pack.

Cleared sources

slides_maker — MIT

https://github.com/addsumtech/slides_maker

Base layer: the fill engine, the gate vocabulary and the design-language spec. Real, natively editable .pptx (python-pptx + deckkit.py); 15 design languages × 7 page types; system fonts only. Evidence: LICENSE and skills/slide-maker/LICENSE are both the MIT License. Allowed paths: skills/slide-maker/**, LICENSE Excluded paths: templates/** (the template bodies live on slides.addsum.top; that needs separate authorisation), icons/** (tabler / lucide / phosphor / feather / heroicons are MIT or ISC but pulled at runtime, not vendored) Assets excluded: icons, fonts, templates Attribution: slides_maker © 2026 Leo-Lyu, MIT License, vendored & modified

ppt_master — MIT

https://github.com/hugohe3/ppt-master

Page-type and slot contracts (20 page types × 2 page sizes). Real .pptx (native shapes); 6 layout sets of 13–20 page types with placeholder slot schemas ({{TITLE}} and friends). ppt_skill — MIT

https://github.com/Brusdeylins/ppt-skill

Fill engine patterns (atomic write + schema validation). Real .pptx with its own neutral-template.pptx (TITLE_SLIDE / CONTENT / Section Header / TWO_COLUMN / Comparison …); the pptc CLI writes atomically and validates against a schema. Evidence: The LICENSE is the MIT License. Allowed paths: ** Excluded paths: — Assets excluded: — Attribution: ppt-skill © 2026 Brusdeylins, MIT License

pptx_template_skills — MIT

https://github.com/CxyZyr/PPTX-Template-Skills

https://github.com/JuneYaooo/gpt-image2-ppt-skills

ppt_agent_skills — NOASSERTION — reference_only

https://github.com/sunbigfly/ppt-agent-skills

Excluded, with the reason

RepositoryLicenceWhy it is out
https://github.com/op7418/guizang-ppt-skillAGPL-3.0Full AGPL text, so it is viral and cannot be vendored — 28k stars do not change that.
https://github.com/chuspeeism/dashi-ppt-skillAGPL-3.0Also AGPL-3.0.
https://github.com/anthropics/skills (skills/pptx)ProprietaryLICENSE.txt: "© 2025 Anthropic, PBC. All rights reserved … users may not: Extract these mat…" — redistribution is forbidden.
ppt-master brands/ and the gpt-image2 styles distilled from slidesgoclaimed-MIT/Apache but third-party designThe original design comes from a third-party consultancy brand or template shop — the same trap as mckinsey-style; copying it would put us in the wrong.

The register is kept as machine-readable data in the factory (/Volumes/S/Workplace/WorkSkills-Factory/upstream-sources.json) and the rule set was decided in the licence audit note (/Volumes/S/Workplace/WorkSkills-Factory/docs/decisions/2026-07-22-oss-sourcing-license-audit.md). The pages of every pack carry a NOTICE file pointing back to this provenance.
